‘Corrosive substance’ thrown at teen

A TEENAGER sustained facial injuries after being doused with a corrosive substance in Kingston town centre.

The youth was admitted to hospital following the incident on Fife Road on Saturday evening.

A 17-year-old male has been charged with throwing a corrosive fluid with intent to commit grievous bodily harm. He has also been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

He has been bailed to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on 8 November.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed in a statement: “The 17-year-old male victim has been discharged from hospital, but is receiving ongoing treatment for facial injuries.”
